During my IBG time, my decided to uncover the truth of the tense relationship that Israel has with the countries that surround them. Relationship is a bold title, which overshadows war's that have originated. The disagreements and hatred between countries continue today because both systems of governments and the people, share different ways of ruling.
Similar to the IBG project, Duckthought, the other group project, has been an interesting embarkment this semester. It is a journey where fog lies in front of us, but every time we get closer, more of the fog deteriorates and clearer is our vision for the project. We first set out course, with the perception of making our podcasts to make people smarter about everything and anything...it changed. When the group finished the recording of the first podcast, NarcoTrafficking in Peru - Production & Exportation of Cocaine, we realized that the recording was extremely compelling and bigger than we expected. We realized that we can inform people on the problems Peru faces today. "Relationships" is key in the intentions we have when we develop the message of the podcast. Duckthought is trying to convey an enthralling story for the Peruvian people on changes that are needed in order to transform Peru. The relationship between the Peruvian Government and the people has weaken. Change is needed, but it isn't easy. Duckthought is a portal that has the potential to restore the amity between the government and the people.
With all the incidents that I have experienced this semester, I hope I can shape a presentation that portrays my relationship with the world. From metrical relationships like the projects in the IA to the emotional relationships with the bonding of my family. Both of them impacted my way of viewing the world, and it functionality. It has been rough at times and it is complicated to understand why do certain things happen, and why are people sometimes led to distractions, forgetting the things that matter most.
As Hugh Mackay, a social researcher, quotes "Noting is perfect. Life is messy. Relationships are complex. Outcomes are uncertain. People are irrational." I can connect with Mackay. The problems in which we suffer most from aren't cut and dry; as well as the solutions. In the Palestinian Region, we see innocent people dying on both sides; however, it has been foolish decisions between both sides that have led to such chaos. Duckthougt, the Peru is struggling in detaining coca production and developing an educational system; however, it is the Peruvian Government that needs to change. They are sickened form the easy riches that corruption gifts. And of course, the most important relationship, which at most times is complicated to mantle, is family. Especially us teenagers, we are utterly most distracted by school and the social life, leaving aside our family. Yet, when something happens to those who have raised us, we react in desperation and say to ourselves "I wish I could have told him/her one more thing." Mr. Bonnici told me something that has sticked into my mind ever since my dearest grandfather passed away "Family Comes First." Today, we are so distracted from all the commodities this world wraps itself around, and we forget those who have been beside us since we were born. I am now closer than ever to my family, and I am grateful to have had a exciting relationship with my grandfather.
My upcoming POL, I am going to elaborate further on the stories and conversations I had on each subject matter that connect back to relationships. And I want to urge the readers to reflect on the relationships with their work or family members.
