Two weeks ago, I had a week off of school. I had no idea what to do for a week. I got home late, went outside to gaze the view of the beautiful city of Lima. Bright lights from buildings and the flow of cars was constant with no ending. But this was the ordinary sight I would see every day.
It wasn't long until my parents found a place to experiment its delights. We were heading to Viñac, a village in the out skirts of Lima. To be honest, my first reaction wasn't pleasant, however, I had to settle down and explore the place before making assumptions.
We left a few days later. It was a 7 hour car trip! Driving through off road terrain, climbing up a mountain with no end; to be honest, it was terrifying. However, when I arrived to the place, I opened my eyes with surprise; the village was unique. It was a village with a population of 300 people, and basically every resource they obtained came from their own source; it was incredible how they can live with no help from the city. On the other hand, I was self obligated to appreciate what I had and the opportunities I get to visit new places.
When I was staying in Viñac, I was self-motivated to hike the mountain routes that the locals offered. I took a one day hike with my family that explored the nature of the village. Hiking through the mountain range I can see the green grass, the yellow wheat and the pine trees that overshadowed the path; nature that I wouldn't find in Lima. Quiet extraordinary the hike; it was peace for a week.
I left the village with a fresh mind, relieved from stress, enjoying my time. It wasn't the ordinary; the village was quiet hard to locate and the accommodation aren't luxuries. The place is an adventure, something new, out of the box; its for people that want to escape from civilization, a person like me.
